James Marsters on Wizard World/Comic Con Tour!
I wasn't sure if this had been posted yet, but I thought those in this comm would appreciate the notice.
James Marsters, also known as the fabulous, devious Captain John Hart, will be doing a few Comic Con appearances come this summer and fall.
First, for those in the Chicagoland area, he will be appearing at Comic Con all weekend (it does not say otherwise on the site) from August 19th-22nd.
In the fall, he will be appearing at Austin's Comic Con from November 12th-14th.Here is a link to the main page for the Chicago Comic Con.
If you scroll down just a tiny bit you can click on his picture for more information.
I hope some of you U.S. Torchwood fans will be able to make it out!

San Diego Comic Con Torchwood Fan Meetup (and news)
After making a preliminary post about this some months ago, I finally have some information that is worth starting to plan over.
If you haven't heard already, at the San Diego Comic Con, July 24-27, not only will BBC Worldwide be there as a presence on the exhibit hall floor, but John Barrowman and Gareth David-Lloyd will be in attendance. I would like to attempt to arrange a massive Torchwood fan meetup on Thursday, which is also the rumored day of the Torchwood panel.
For more information and news on the meetup, Comic Con, and other things, come check out our community, torchwoodsdcc

Fic: Hostage Situation 2/2
Title: Hostage Situation 2/2
Characters: Jack, Ianto
Summary: Jack wants to role-play. Ianto indulges him, with unforeseen consequences.
Warning: Another one of my "throw in everything including the kitchen sink" stories. Bondage, sadism, angst, smut, fluff, mention of graphic mutilation (past), and my first complete explicit sex scene(s). Not for the squeamish. Youve been warned.
Spoilers for DWS3 and the BBCA Captain's Blog for Sleeper.
Sorry for the delay. Worried some parts of this like a dog worrying a bone. Rewrote a few paragraphs half a dozen times. Hope the result is worth the wait.

Greetings and welcome, and everything else.
This LJ community (and associated other communities) was created in the hopes of accumulating a good deal of the US Torchwood fan base together and keep us all informed on what's going on here in the US in relation to the show!
A little history lesson: Torchwood
, a spinoff of the sci-fi classic, Doctor Who
premiered in the UK in October 2006. It follows a group of people who work for the Torchwood agency, which first appeared in Series 2 of Doctor Who
, and are lead by the enigmatic Captain Jack Harkness. Immediately, Torchwood was a huge hit in the UK, smashing viewing figure records overnight. The first series (that's season for us here in the US) ended on New Years with an epic two-episode finale. All this time, the show had a huge following online. The online community spread well beyond the UK (as we all well know). Finally, it was announced that it was going to be picked up by BBC America to be shown here in the US. Currently, Torchwood
is running on BBC America (New Episodes Saturday @ 9) and has been an unprecedented success! In January, Torchwood
's second series (that's season for us here in the US) will be broadcast over in the UK.
Enough history, onto stuff about the community! I'm Estel (aka a million other things), and the other person (who is really in charge) who manages the community and an associated Yahoo group is scifichicx
. We put this place together to gather other people, who, like us, love Torchwood
and live here in the USA! We'll do our best to keep you informed on things like events, special dates, and big news!
This is a place for anything Torchwood
. Discussion of characters, episodes, plots, and other stuff as well as fanish things like fics and art are all welcome! News, of course, is also always welcome! Please, rate everything appropriately, and ALWAYS follow our spoiler guidelines!!
With all that said, I'd just like to say, welcome! Comment to this post to let us know who you are! Current Mood: cheerful

So I just heard from John Barrowman's mailing list that his newest puppy Tiger had to be put to sleep last night. If you know anything about John, you probably know how much he loves dogs, especially his dogs. This is the second pet loss he's suffered in less than a year (just a few months, I think) and besides the sadness he has to go through this in the middle of the busiest time of his life.
We obviously all love him. That's why we're here right? The show is fantastic and John is an important part of that. So what I'm wondering is, who is ok with giving something back for an actor that gives so so much to his fans? There is this charity John sponsors called Dogs Trust and instead of cards or flowers he asked that fans show their support by donating. There are so many of us fans that it wouldn't take much from each of us to end up making a huge contribution. I'm waiting back on details about a group donation but if nothing else you can check out the official charity site http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/
or the page about it on John's site http://www.johnbarrowman.com/outabout/charity/dogstrust.html
and then here is the page about Tiger http://www.johnbarrowman.com/tiger/tiger.html
that says to make donations on behalf of Tiger Barrowman Gill.
I'm sure there are people in this comm that have already given to the charity and I'm certainly not putting anyone down who doesn't want to (or can't as the case often is) but I just thought it might be a nice thing that could cheer him up if we band together and do something. What do you all think? Who is interested? We know John loves his fans so let's love him right back.

I just got some fantastic info from BBC America!
The Torchwood DVD boxset, as you may know, is going to hit stores on
January 22nd. By far one of the biggest fan disappointments is when
the packaging of their favorite show's DVD has a lame cover. Not this
time! Very soon, the BBC website will host a cover vote and we fans
get to choose which cover we want on the DVD! The voting is ONLY going
to be happening between October 15th and October 26th on the BBC
America website and I will post the link to the voting as soon as it
becomes active. The BBC America publicist had this to say,
"When the voting closes, the artwork that receives the most votes will
be used for this highly-anticipated 7-disc box set, which contains
over 6 hours of bonus features. In addition, 20 voters will be chosen
at random to receive a copy of the DVD once available at retail."
So let's get some hype goin' and let the fans have some power!

Captain's blog has been updated to include episode 4, Cyberwoman. I
can't wait to see the introspection that comes from Small Worlds with
it being such an important episode for Jack. They are written by the
actual writers of the series so yeah, they are canon.
From JohnBarrowman.com I've learned good news and bad news. Bad news
is that Friday Night is Music Night has been canceled due to
legal-type problems. However on a lighter note, John has just been
confirmed to be a guest on Hotel Babylon. This won't mean anything for
a while, but the show IS on BBC America so eventually he can be seen.
On a fun note: chances are he'll be having sex. :-Dhttp://torchwoodtv.blogspot.com/
is holding a Torchwood essay contest.
The top five top entries win prizes! Check out the site for details.
Seems like the net is alive for Torchwood fans. Torchies? Woodies?
What do we call ourselves? Hahaha. So apparently this is a good time
for being a fan. How goes the Panto flyer competition? Anyone take any
